Washington, DC January, 2008 – Olivia Fox, the popular award-winning radio personality who is known as the “Queen of Telling It Like It Is,” has accepted an offer to be the midday host of the radio program called, “Out the Box with Olivia Fox” premiering, Monday January 21, 2008. Back in June 2007, Olivia Fox returned to the nation's capital on sister station WKYS-FM to host a late night program under the same name. Quickly building an audience, and causing a stir in the market Olivia was approached to take her talents to sister station WMMJ to host "Out the Box with Olivia Fox", from 10 am-3 p.m
After successfully leading her own morning show for nearly 3 years on Clear Channel’s “95.7 The Beat” in Tampa, Florida, . Olivia says, “I’m extremely excited to be able to have this unique opportunity to work on a station I have always loved and listened to. Majic is a perfect fit for me, the music, and the demographic that Majic 102.3 targets, I get it, it's a radio format that I can easily relate to. For the legion of fans who listened faithfully, Ms. Fox worked in the Washington area on the Russ Parr Morning Show with Olivia Fox from 1996 until December 2002, and at that time, she helped make that show one of the highest rated radio programs in the country, continually building an audience until it became syndicated to some 30 stations across the country. In addition to winning the daily loyalty of millions of listeners – many of whom are almost cult-like in their following – Ms. Fox helped the show win several national awards. Since leaving that program, in 2003, Ms. Fox became a mother, giving birth to a beautiful baby girl, Nina Polaris, who is now nearly 4 years old.
During the past 3 years Olivia has had her hands full with other pursuits. She assists her husband with his commercial construction company, and runs Olivia Fox Entertainment, which she is currently pitching her own info-tainment television show to various media outlets.
Olivia is a member of the board of directors of the National Minority Organ Tissue Transplant Education Program (National MOTTEP), which is headed by Dr. Clive O Callender, a leading Washington transplant surgeon and chief of surgery at Howard University Hospital. She participates in fund raisers with AAKP, (American Association of Kidney Patients) and the American Kidney Fund. Olivia continues to support these organizations, with a personal commitment to continue to raise awareness and educate the public about the importance of kidney health, organ donation and organ transplantation.
Olivia Fox is passionate about many things. At the top of her list is inspiring young people to be everything they are capable of being. She is a motivational speaker with inspirational personal stories of coping with life’s setbacks, struggles, and changes. Olivia says she will pick up where she left off in the DC area some 5 years ago with her commitment to her signature, Olivia Loves the Kids campaign.
